Spaces and Places

We are fortunate to have diverse spaces for students to enjoy. From three large age approproate playgrounds to bush spaces and gardens. We are always seeking to improve the outdoor environment with regular working bees that maintain and enhance our unique site.

Three playgrounds provide age appropriate play for students from Prep through to Year 6. Students. Sheltered in shade thy are popular before and after school as well as during the recess and lunch breaks.

‘The oval‘ is a loved space where students can be found creatively exploring the treed boundaries, tunneling in the long jump pit, shooting hoops or simply kicking the football. In 2024, volunteers installed a GaGa pit that has proved very popular.

In 2024, FORPS supported the construction of an outdoor learning space with tiered seating. The location provides a shaded ampitheatre and gathering place for students at lunch times and an outdoor learning classroom

The STEM Garden is another outdoor space for students to explore mathematics adn enginerering concepts in an outdoor space. Equipped with a sandpit and shade it also provides a realxed space for Year 6 and Prep buddies to enjoy lunch together.

You might find yourself lost in the Sustainability Garden but you will never go hungry. Parents and students can be found digging and planting on a Friday afrernoon. The chickens are very popular and are cared for by a committed group of volunteers.

Last year, with the support of Banyule Council, a unique Frog Bog was constructed. Arising out of the 3/4 Learning Area, staff, students and parents created this quiet spot complete with frog motels! All are welcome to enjoy this relaxing and tranquil area.
