Our Orientation of 2017 prep students continues this Thursday at 9:15am. While our new preps are welcomed in some fun activities, parents will meet for further discussions and presentations that support their transition into the school. We are looking forward to the days ahead and getting to know a little more of our new Rosanna Primary students.
What a wow of a concert thrilled all those who were present on 20 October! Below are the range of responses received through Tiqbiz from parents who shared in the night. It is a tribute to all who shared in the realisation of the concert.
Videos of this night can be ordered through the office this week only for a cost of $25.00.
The bell rang and freezing conditions and rain caused the cancellation of the Working Bee planned last Friday. Nevertheless a number of intrepid parents braved the conditions and continued into the evening to regenerate and plant over 100 native grasses and bushes outside Chandler Hall. this monumental effort was followed up with even more digging the day after. Have a look at the area, it is fantastic.
A special thanks for the donation of other natives that are now populating the 3/4 and 5/6 amphitheatre area. These supportive actions have helped Ensure our grounds are kept neat and tidy.
Students stood up and were heard at a recent Student Representative Council (SRCVic) awards presentation evening. On Tuesday 18 October, members of the Junior School Council, Rosanna Primary Staff as well as parents of our JSC Reps, gathered in Melbourne with students from across the state. Students were thrilled and parents proud when the Minister for Education presented our JSC representatives with a runner up award. We were all privileged to have achieved so much and be recognised for our strong student voice here at Rosanna Primary.
October is 'Walk to School' month. This encourages children to walk, ride or scoot to school every day in October to highlight the ways walking improves their health and wellbeing, as well as learning healthy habits!
There are fantastic prizes up for grabs for the school with the highest participation in the region so even if you don't normally walk, maybe park a block or 2 away and walk the rest of the way!
We hope to see you pounding that pavement!
The term has begun with a flurry here at Rosanna Primary. Already students have spotted our resident Tawny Frogmouth who has taken to it's nest. We look forward to the anxious wait ahead and when we might have some exciting news. Meanwhile in the classrooms it is business as usual as students settle quickly into learning. The 5/6s are writing limericks while the Preps are reflecting on some of the culinary attempts arising from their recipe books from last term. We are looking forward to adventures ahead in learning and life!
Students will be reminded of the importance of fitness and living a healthy lifestyle as they participate in the annual 'Block or Bust' Walkathon. Students in Years 3-6 will be walking around the whole block while supervised by volunteers and teachers. The students in Prep - Year 2 will have a shorter route around the school. Everyone will enjoy this chance to help raise money for seating in the playground and to gain some important exercise. Please download the sponsor sheet below if the original has been lost.
Don't miss out on ordering your tickets to our Term 4 Concert! There are at least two tickets for each family and the potential for more. Please ensure that all tickets area returned by Friday 2 September.
Parents crammed into the art room yesterday afternoon to capture a glimpse of the Art Show. There were so many that parents returned today to look at the artworks a little more closely. Everyone was surprised as they moved into the art room that had been transformed into an exhibition space. It proved a great time to explore the wide range of art styles students have been working with this year. Some loved the perspectives of the giant Olympic Stadium while others looked closely at the mosaics.
Congratulations to all who celebrated our students' achievements and visited the exhibition.
