Tawny Frogmouth Delights All

One of the delights for our community at this time of year is our nesting Tawny Frogmouths. In the large tree, outside the canteen, a pair of frogmouths have been sitting on their nest for the past few weeks. This week they surprised everyone when the juvenile took up residence in a bush at eye level!! Still in its soft down, it has slowly been developing its fully formed feathers, accompanied by a parent watching on. During lunch and recess breaks, students grouped in wonder as they studied these beautiful native birds.

We can't help but be reminded of how lucky we are to be surrounded by such beauty.

What a wow of a concert thrilled all those who were present on 20 October! Below are the range of responses received through Tiqbiz from parents who shared in the night. It is a tribute to all who shared in the realisation of the concert.

  •  What a fantastic concert, I enjoyed every act - the kids at the slumber party were naturals and very funny. A special mention to Ms Taylor for getting a student into a silver lycra suit!!
  • A wonderful showcase for the students! It was evident that everyone in the school contributed to the night, and again brought the school community together.
  • Loved the dances and comedic routines, thought that our hosts/comperes very exceptionally confident and truly embodied the school's values.
  • Everyone must or should feel very proud! Well done to everyone involved!
  • It was fantastic absolutely loved it, all students were wonderful
  • I loved seeing everyone trying their best and having fun together! It was another great concert RPS!
  • Best one so far. Gets better every year - well organised
  • Wow, what a wonderful display of talent and team work on stage by all RPS students. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening, the venue was great and a special mention to 5/6C for the best overall performance- their stage props were terrific!

  • Fabulous effort by all involved and our kindest appreciation to the hard working teachers & staff at RPS.
  • The concert was very entertaining and you can see the effort from the students and the teachers show casing their various talents. Congratulations!!
  • Great night. Venue was easy to get to compared with Plenty Ranges Theatre. Would have loved to be able to buy a glass of wine! Really enjoyed the more theatrical approach to the narrative linking all the acts together. It was very engaging and more dynamic than previous concerts. Also gave the students an opportunity to explore a more dramatic style of performance. Wonderful stuff. Congratulations to all those involved, especially Sophie Cartelli. Thank you for a memorable night.
  • Congrats to all you jumping, dancing, punching, kicking and acting superstars. Energy, enthusiasm on stage and quiet backstage!
  • I think we had the hottest tickets in Melbourne. Didn't stop smiling the whole evening. Thank you all for giving us such a wonderful night of entertainment. You should all be exceedingly proud of your performances.
  • It was fantastic to watch the children performing at the concert. I was really impressed by the amount of effort that all of those involved put in. Well done .
  • Fantastic event, great performances by everyone. Very entertaining for all the audience members. Great job by the kids in between performances to keep it all flowing. Loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Happy Feet and the Preps singing.
  • Absolutely loved it, stand out performances by all concerned. Well done to everybody and look forward to the next one.
  • What an absolutely fabulous show! I was thoroughly entertained by each performance, it was such a huge achievement for all of the children to get up on stage and perform in front of so many people...well done. There are definitely some great little actors and dancers!
  • Congratulations also to the teachers and helpers who put this together and managed everything backstage and at the front, you are all amazing!
  • Fantastic show, loved seeing the huge smiles and the kids enjoying themselves so much.

Gardens Spring to Life

The bell rang and freezing conditions and rain caused the cancellation of the Working Bee planned last Friday. Nevertheless a number of intrepid parents braved the conditions and continued into the evening to regenerate and plant over 100 native grasses and bushes outside Chandler Hall. this monumental effort was followed up with even more digging the day after. Have a look at the area, it is fantastic.

A special thanks for the donation of other natives that are now populating the 3/4 and 5/6 amphitheatre area. These supportive actions have helped Ensure our grounds are kept neat and tidy.

Students stood up and were heard at a recent Student Representative Council (SRCVic) awards presentation evening. On Tuesday 18 October, members of the Junior School Council, Rosanna Primary Staff as well as parents of our JSC Reps, gathered in Melbourne with students from across the state. Students were thrilled and parents proud when the Minister for Education presented our JSC representatives with a runner up award. We were all privileged to have achieved so much and be recognised for our strong student voice here at Rosanna Primary.
