This Tuesday will be the first of three whole school transition sessions aimed at giving students an opportunity to familiarise themselves with not only new possible classmates but also new different learning spaces. At 12:30pm on Tuesday students from across the school will be moving to their new learning areas. They will be meeting with the teachers in that area and discuss the changes that they might need to embrace as they take their 2015 learning step. The second session will be with other teachers on 4th December. The final session will be in the last week of term on 15th December when they will meet their 2015 classmates and teacher!

Students and staff at Rosanna have been learning to a different bell due to the failure of the school PA on Thursday and Friday. Mr Jackson reported that "history had been rediscovered with the use of the old bell dating back to the origins of the school." He reported that he was looking forward to the return of the electric bell because he was tired of the Santa Claus jokes!

Bikes on the Move!

This week our bikes will be moving to the new bike rack area. There will be some shuffling of spaces over the coming weeks as we find storage for the bits and pieces currently located in the 'old building' that we hope will soon be demolished. Here's the plan ... the bikes will move to the bike racks, the students' sport equipment to the old bike shed, the workshop to the old students' sports area, the bins to the old workshop! Now draw a breath! Sounds something akin to the song 'There was an old lady!'

We are eager to ensure that when word comes to demolish the building we can have it removed as soon as possible. Your help at the 'Lend a Hand' evening on Friday afternoon on 28th November will be greatly appreciated. It will help with getting ready for the Election Day Sale as well as moving of bits and pieces around the school. Please let us know if you can make it!

Studnets from the 1/2 classes were seen dancing and drumming their way through the the morning on Thursday. A special guest drummer, Shaba, provided an insight into the cultural background of drumming as well as giving a few tips and tricks into playing drums. It must have been fun as a number of students were discovered at lunchtime drumming away in the playground!

Some parents were a little tentative as the entered the gates and discovered a few changes to our students. They arrived for our Halloween Dressup Day held by the Junior School Council to raise money  towards research into the Immune Deficiency Foundation at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Students enjoyed the dressing up and also the chance to fund raise for such an important cause.

Clean Up on Fri 28th Nov

We need your help to clean up around the school. Young and old can lend a hand to clear out the old building, shift some equipment between buildings and  generally keep our school safe and tidy. We are hoping for news that our old building will finally be removed. We want to be ready so here is an opportunity to do a spring clean! Please leave your name and number at the front office if you can help out.

Election Day Sale Sat 29th Nov

This will be a chance to sell some of our bits and pieces left stored in the old building. Plastic moulded chairs and tables that are ideal for the cubby house or outdoor play area are just some of the bargains we are keen to sell. Please add your name to the roster if you are willing to help out on the day by ringing the office on 9457 2592.
