There was laughter, furrowed brows, smiles and lots of discussion around numbers today. Students participated in multiage groups to play lots of games highlighting a range of maths concepts. It was great to see and hear older students breaking down addition concepts and explaining mathematical ideas to other students. everyone enjoyed the games as well as the collaborative spirit that saw everyone learning together.

Thanks to our Maths team for organising this unique learning experience and preparing for the sessions.

The Great R.P.S Book Swap has begun!

Before school on a Friday morning can often be a quiet time but it was obvious something exciting was happening last week. One by one, students began to nervously pop their heads into the fishbowl to see what all of the fuss was about. Soon enough, a trickle turned into a wave as word spread - The Great R.P.S Book Swap had begun!

Students, parents and teachers alike enjoyed browsing through our selection of books, with a number finding brand new homes. It was also great to hear those students who hadn't brought a book to swap saying things like "I'm going to get this one next week!" A few students even tried to hide the book they wanted amongst the others!

With the swaps so far, we have made a great start to our fundraising efforts for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. The Book Swap will be open in the fishbowl every Friday morning between 8:20 and 8:45am - all you need to bring is a book to swap and your gold coin donation.

See you there!

The Cat on the Mat is Flat by Andy Griffiths

Picture
This book is made up of lots of short stories. My favourite story in this book is Pinky Ponky the Shonky Wonky Bonky Donkey. I like this because it is a tongue twister and it is very interesting. This book was interesting because it had words that have been made up.

I recommend this book for people who like tongue twisters and funny books.
