Parent Teacher Interviews

Parent Teacher interviews will take place in the morning, afternoon and evening tomorrow. These meetings are an opportunity for teachers to learn about a range of issues that may include a student’s strengths and challenges, how they might be settling into 2016, medical or personal concerns, outside interests, parental expectations, and/or parental availability for volunteering in classrooms.

It is not possible to spend more than 10 mins with any family, so we ask, if further time is required, an appointment be made for a later time and date.

While students will be at home on Monday teachers will go to school to learn all about ways to shape curious learners at Rosanna Primary. Dr. Jeni Wilson will lead all our teaching staff through strategies to support them to plan and structure learning through inquiry based approaches.

We hope in the coming days and weeks there will be opportunities to engage with teachers about what they have learned and the differences that the day has made.

What Kind of Learning Community Do We Want to Be?

Students in 1/2W have been bending their brains around what kind of learners they want to be this year. They have brainstormed a whole range of valuable ideas and thoughts as they developed their  'Mission Statement' of how they want their class to be this year. All classes are taking this 'startup' period to define what they think effective learning looks like. It certainly is evidence of some deep thinking!

Students throughout the day spent time highlighting the importance of safety online. Students in the 3/4 area explored a range of issues including the importance of keeping personal information safe and tips on using social media. This week parents and carers will be receiving the 2016 ICT Student Agreements. While teachers will have spent time discussing the significance and implications of the agreements, parents are encouraged to use the document to enter into conversations with students around the use of the internet.
