At screen printing, we used oil pastels (with art smocks of course) to make lovely pictures and used spray cans to add different layers of back grounds. Then we put a stamp (lion or whale, I chose the whale) on the front, and they looked REALLY cool. But all were cool in a way, like their patterns, where they put the stamps , and the way the colour stood out
At metalwork, (my favourite) we had to make little things (fish, hearts, skulls , initials and much more!) using tin, but very thin enough to bend … and do tiny cuts. But it was much harder than you would think! It had lots of cutting slits, folding parts, decorating and drawing. I was amazed by what people had made. Like a Batman symbol!! Mine was a man, and that man was me!
At ceramics/pottery, we made simple pinch pots, but then used them to make something else! Some of the things I saw were: monsters, faces, a Statue of Liberty and Excalibur scenes. I built an Excalibur scene myself. All the other creations were excellent.
We also had a sausage sizzle, luckily everyone had 2 each, even. Thanks Macleod College for their time to set up an excellent day!
