Students in Years 5 and 6 visited the local Banyule Council as part of their study into governments. They met with a number of staff from council including Clr Tom Melican. It was a rich experience that deleved deeply into the structure of local councils as well as the formalities and procedures of council meetings. Students enjoyed the opportunities to role play councillors in a mock council meeting responding to an application to build a five storey block of units on the Northern side of Rosanna Primary. It was a great opportunity to renew our friendship with Clr Melikin who had been Principal for a Day earlier in the year. |
