Our Favourite Animals in the 1/2 Area
This term our students have been working hard, discussing many questions about our favourite animals in the 1/2 area.
First we had to work out what animals to choose and how many to choose.
After that, we had to decide how we would survey our friends and classmates in the 1/2 Area. We spoke about how we would go up to them, what to say and how to draw or write it in our books, for example using tally marks.
Then we discussed as a grade what to do with this information and we talked about different graphs we could make with our information.
Most importantly, then we looked at our graphs and talked about what we could see, such as, which was the most or least popular animal in our area and how could tell this.
We are now looking forward to continuing our investigation, working out answers for ourselves and choosing our own learning path!
